Overview

This product currently primarily supports two methods for data synchronization: Agent-based and Agentless.

Agent-based Method (Agent)

  • The Agent-based method includes Linux Agent and Windows Agent, and is suitable for various scenarios, including:
    • Physical machines
    • Virtual machines in public cloud platforms
    • Virtual machines in private cloud platforms
    • Virtual machines in hyper-converged platforms
    • Virtual machines running on various virtualization software, such as KVM, Xen, Hyper-V, etc.

Agentless Method (Agentless)

  • The Agentless method operates without an agent on the source end. When migrating or ensuring disaster recovery for virtual machines running on virtualization platforms or private cloud platforms, each virtual machine to be migrated or protected doesn’t require the installation of an agent. The program simply needs to call the interfaces of the virtualization platform to obtain the data of the virtual machines to be protected. This method allows for batch processing and efficient disaster recovery. Currently, the primary supported platforms include:
    • VMware vSphere
    • OpenStack private clouds, including both open-source OpenStack and commercial versions based on open-source OpenStack, provided that they utilize distributed Ceph storage or have integrated with commercial Ceph storage solutions, such as XSKY’s distributed products.
