    e.g. At my last school, they called me names because I was so slow.

    • call sth your own 认为…是自己的

    e.g. I don’t aspire to anything very grand, I just want a place I can call my own.
    我不奢望特別氣派的東西，我只想擁有一個屬於我自己的地方。

    • call the shots = call the tune 控制；處於決策地位

    e.g. It’s my life. I call the shots. 我的生活，我做主。

    • call the quits 停止做；同意債務已償清，同意已互不相欠 （美式：call it even）

    e.g. At 10 o’clock I decided to call it quits for the day. 10點鐘時我決定停止工作。
    I paid for last week’s shopping and you paid for this week’s, so let’s call it quits.
