What Is It
The PIR motion sensor detects if there is a human or animal passing by within its detection range.
How It Works
The PIR motion sensor is the abbreviation for Passive Infrared Motion Sensor, which is made of infrared-sensitive materials.
When the sensor stays still, objects such as a bedroom, wall or table emit nearly constant infrared amidst the detection area around it. When a human or animal passes by in this area, the infrared intensity varies. That’s how a PIR motion sensor can find an object in a specified area in a range of 3-5 meters.
