Cheap usb mic for use with voice recognition?

Does anybody know of any good cheap usb mics that could be used with voice recognition? I need a mic that can pick up noise in a room well enough to be used with voice recognition.

Hi Sorin,

I followed the instructions available in the RPi wiki and various posts in this forum. Edit the file /boot/cmdline.txt (e.g. using “sudo nano /boot/cmdline.txt”) and add the following command to the start of the line:

Then save the file and reboot.

Note: doing this will stop any USB 2.0-only devices from working, so make sure you can ssh/vnc into your Pi, or that you have a USB 1.1 compatible keyboard… otherwise you’ll not be able to do anything when you boot up!
