How to make S’more.
以下是Emily 在外教Charles指导下完成的作文,具体是描述如何制作S’More, 并在文中加入了自己对S’More 制作的独特理解和情感体验:
Imagine you are outside on a snowy, winter’s day.
Imagine your fingers and toes are freezing, and you’re shivering all over.
Then imagine a nice person gives you something hot and sweet, with a crispy biscuit crust, a gooey white interior, and a delicious chocolaty taste.
Then you just have to wait until all parts of your body warm up as you take a bite of it, and let it slowly melt in your mouth.
Hmm, sounds so yummy!
Well, it is yummy and it’s called S’more.
You wanna know how to make it?
First, in order to make a good S’more, you have to know the difference between marshmallow and cotton candy.
Even though I think they are made from the same stuff, they still taste and look different.Cotton candy is cloud-like, melts immediately when it goes into your mouth, and is available in many colors, whereas Marshmallow is more solid, and its color is usually white.
Don’t be tempted by its attractive appearance - cotton candy is not suitable for making s’mores! You have to use marshmallow, so pay attention when you’re choosing ingredients in the market!
Second, you have to know what kind of ‘biscuit’ to choose. Well, it’s not exactly a normal biscuit, and it has a special name: graham cracker (pronounced ‘gram’).
If you don’t like the taste of graham crackers, you can just as well use another kind of flat biscuit, if you want.
Third, you have to find a good chocolate.
Personally, I don’t really like chocolate with marshmallow, but if you want to make the traditional recipe, then you do need chocolate, and any tasty chocolate you can grab will do.
Once you’ve got all the ingredients you need to make a good s’more, next you need a good place to make them. OK, there are two places you can choose: outside or inside.
Of course, the best outside option would be around a campfire in the woods. But you can also have a nice little barbecue in your backyard.
If you don’t feel like going outside, you can keep cozy and cook them indoors, right on your kitchen stove.
Actually you can choose anywhere you want, but to tell you the truth, I had a bad experience with chopsticks and marshmallows catching fire in the kitchen. So maybe you should take that as a warning and make the s’mores outside!
After you choose your ingredients, and the place to make them, it’s time to find the last thing you’ll need, which is the tools.
You use different tools under different circumstances. For example, if you are making them on a big bonfire, you’ll need some long metal forks, so you don’t need to stand too close to the fire. Bonfires can get very hot! If you’re using a barbecue in the yard at home, or at a picnic place, you can probably just use the normal tools for cooking on the BBQ.
Cooking with a bonfire or BBQ is always going to be a bit risky because the flames may consume the s’mores before you do. But with the right tools and keeping a close eye on the cooking, you can avoid losing your delicious snack. One cute little tip for beginners is that there are two kinds
of s’mores: burned or brown.
You just have to put the marshmallow in the fire longer and let it BURN if you want burned, and put it near the fire instead of in the fire if you want a brown one.
So yeah, this is easy, isn’t it?
Why not invite you friends around as soon as you can, and enjoy a s’more-feast together!
