This course (Adv. Maths) consists of 16 weeks of lectures (Tue. and Thur, 4pm till 5:40pm, GMT+8, same below).
No mid-term exam. The final exam date is to be announced when it is close to the end of the semester. Attendance will be recorded. In case of absence, one must apply for leave in advance.

in general. But if you have applied at the beginning of this semester not to submit homework and only take the final exam, then your final grade = your final exam marks. Note also that the final exam will be a close-book exam. And you are not allowed to use any calculator.
The textbooks we are going to use:
1. Calculus made easy (link http://calculusmadeeasy.org);
2. Calculus, Volume 1 (OpenStax, link https://openstax.org/details/books/calculus-volume-1)
(This is a very nice book, which explains abstract notions via many vivid and elementary examples in detail. If one thinks the book is too lengthy, I suggest to print out Chapters 2, 3, and 5 which consisting of a core of calculus).

Instructions for this mock exam:
Please try to solve as many problems as you can, and as complete every problem as possible if a problem consisting of more sub-problems. In case that you have not yet learned the notion, just state that on your answer sheet and skip to the next problem.
Please write down your answers on blank papers with the problem numbering. Then send me a clear picture or a scanned copy of your answer sheets.
The deadline is 23:50, 14th September 2021.
Your answers should be emailed to yqfeng@stu.edu.cn. When you return your answers, use your favourite email account, with subject “mock test” and please write you name in the email text. By this way I can keep you posted through your favourite email ^_^
