项目背景：

为提升机翻引擎质量，而构建简体中文到英的知识库。项目内容包括：source, reference。MT target 不将提供。该项目翻译时无需严格依赖 reference。

生产流程：

  1. 判断是否为 Source Error:
  • 若 source 本身无含义，且无法通过 reference 推测出其含义，则为 source error，标为 ####；
  • 若 source 为俗语中所截取的一部分，且单独使用无意义，则为 source error，标为 ####；

例子：
source：下自成蹊
reference：……桃李不言，下自成蹊……
target: ####

  1. 若非 source error，则直接翻译，该项目不强制参考 reference，提供的译文不一定需要符合 reference 语境，只需尽可能给出一个具有普适性的译文；

生产注意点：

  1. 译文需要尽可能的简洁且准确的传达出 source 的含义，部分 source 较长的原文，翻译时译文不可超过 20 个词，尽量避免使用 somebody, something, someone, one’s 等类似不定代词

例子：
source: 一了百了
Target 1: one finished, all is finished (OK)
Target 2: all troubles end when the main trouble ends (OK)
Target 3: ss the main item has been solved, all the rest are therefore solved, too (Not recommended, too long)
Target 4: death ends all one’s troubles (Not recommended, include Indefinite pronouns- one’s)

  1. 大小写，标点问题：除专有名词，品牌名外，请一律小写，即使译文是一句完整的句子，首字母依然保持小写；译文句末不要加任何标点；

  2. 动词时态：涉及时态且术语没有明显时态指向，则使用一般现在时；

  3. 品牌名，公司名处理方式：若有目标语言的官方译文，则使用，若没有，则使用拼音；

  4. 成语，俗语处理方式：（可参考“新汉英大辞典”或者其他权威词典）

  • 英语中有对应俗语，使用套译法，如：

(1) 事实胜于雄辩：actions speak louder than words
(2) 趁热打铁：strike while the iron is hot；
(3) 一举多得：kill two birds with one stone

  • 英文中没有完全对应的表达，根据成语所想表达的真实含义进行转译。它虽然难以保全成语的文化特色和具体形象，却能简洁明快地反映出成语的喻意，如：

(1) 黔驴技穷：be at the wit’s end
(2) 开门见山：come straight to the point

  • 若英文中既无俗语也无对应转译表达，则考虑使用直译法，最大限度地在译文中再现成语中的形象和修辞色彩，如：

(1) 如鱼得水：feel just like fish in water
(2) 一心二用：do two things at one time
