MetaGame的由来

Out of nowhere? 不知从哪儿冒出来？

Well, not really. I have been waiting for someone to do it, ever since my brain was first occupied by this “Ethereum world computer” meme;
其实也不尽然。自从我的大脑第一次被这个“以太坊全球计算机”说法占据以来，我就一直在等待有人来做这件事;

“Holy shit! This is the software infrastructure layer we need for a fair socioeconomic system of the future!” “我靠! 这就是我们为了建设未来公平的社会经济系统所需要的软件基础设施层! ”

It is only now that I said: I’ll be damned if I don’t at least try.
直到现在，我才说: 如果我不至少尝试一下，我会被诅咒的。

Why now? 为什么是现在？

Back in May, Peter published a call-to-action article titled “Rising threats to Ethereum’s first mover advantage” which introduced me to the colorful bunch you might know as the MetaCartel.
2019年五月份，MetaCartel的负责人Peter（发表了一篇题为“对以太坊先行者优势的威胁在上升”的行动呼吁文章，这篇文章向我介绍了有趣的你们可能知道的MetaCartel。
He receives my message, and a week later, he’s onboarding me to the MetaCartel— over a burrito and some ale, after the “Year of The DAO” meetup in Ljubljana, where I set out to meet him.
他收到了我的信息，一个星期后，在卢布尔雅那（斯洛文尼亚的首都）举行的“ DAO 年”会议结束后，他接受了我的邀请，在餐厅吃玉米煎饼和喝麦芽酒的同时，把我带入了MetaCartel。
Coming into MetaCartel looking for problems — I noted a few things missing that would be useful for a rapidly expanding network:

  • Some sort of a guide — introducing people to what we’re about, and how to find your place among us, 某种向导ーー向人们介绍我们是干什么的，以及如何在我们中找到你自己的位置，
  • Repositories of ideas, solutions, members — and their needs and offers, 思想、解决方案、成员（及其需求和能提供的）知识库，
  • A map of the whole thing. 整个事情的地图

    I must have been writing it for no longer than 3 days, when Peter contacted me again, saying:

    “Hey, I like what you’re doing, here’s 1k DAI of the funds Binance gave me!” “嘿，我喜欢你现在做的事情，这是币安给我的1000元DAI资助! ”

It’s not a lot of money, but it’s a lot of affirmation — getting money without asking for it? Usually not even in crypto.
这不是一大笔钱，但却是一个肯定——不用开口就能拿到钱？通常不行，即使在加密货币中也不行。

Onwards 继续前进

As my work on the paper progressed, more crucial elements were added:
随着我在写文章方面的工作，取得进展，又增加了一些更重要的内容:

  • Titles — knowing who’s accountable for what, keeps things moving and makes it easier to navigate the cartel. 头衔ーー知道谁对什么事情负责，让事情有所进展，并且更容易驾驭
  • Achievements — knowing who did what, also pretty useful. 成就ーー知道谁做了什么，也很有用

And with the idea growing from a simple way of making the MetaCartel easier to understand and oversee, into… this; I needed to go out and meet more fellow carteleans, get some feedback and some apostles.
随着这个想法，从一个简单的方式（使MetaCartel更容易理解和监督）成长为… 今天这样；我需要出去，会见更多的MetaCartel同伴们，获得一些反馈和指导。
So I got my ticket, helped put together the “MetaCartel Mansion” and boarded the plane to Berlin.
于是我买了机票，在描绘“ MetaCartel蓝图”上帮忙 ，并登上了飞去柏林的飞机。

Besides the MetaCartel Demo Day, my pilgrimage went around DappCon, Token Engineering, Governance Games, ETHBerlin and whatever smaller event wasn’t too far off the trail — the folk seemed receptive to my meme, to say the least…

Not having known I needed to register, devious tactics had to be deployed.

  • My debt towards the folk of ETHBerlin was wiped by my helping the Odyssy (DAOHaus) team, not just shillin’ muh own shie’.
  • 我欠“柏林以太坊”主办方的债，都被我给DAOHaus的帮助抹掉了；队员们，不要只顾自己啊

During the final hours of the hackathon, while waiting for the team presenting to the judges — my hand started sketching up the UX flowchart.. This is what came out:
在黑客马拉松的最后几个小时里，在等待团队向评委路演的过程中，我开始着手勾勒 UX流程图。结果如下:

The left represents some of the components, the middle 1/3 represents the player journey, and the right side is the value proposition. 左边代表一些组成部分，中间的1/3代表玩家的旅程，右边代表价值主张。

Thinking through this complex system where not just people, but institution, may join — it became obvious there was a problem…
考虑到不仅仅是人，还有机构，都可能加入这个复杂的系统ーー很明显存在一个问题…

  • If the Moloch DAO, Ethereum Foundation, or ConsenSys _wanted to join, they would probably not want to be under the _MetaCartel
  • 如果Moloch DAO、以太坊基金会或ConsenSys想要加入，他们可能不想被MetaCartel掌控
  • Let alone some people from outside crypto…
  • 更不用说一些来自加密货币行业外部的人…

It became apparent that The Game has to be a layer above. The Game, was no longer to be called MetaCartel;
很明显，这个游戏必须再上一个层次，不再被称为MetaCartel了;

  • The game is to be called 这个游戏被叫做MetaGame。
  • The concept behind it coined; “ A Massive Online Coordination Game”

  • 它背后的概念创造出来了；“**一个大规模的在线协调游戏”**

And that’s how MetaGame was born;
