in this research, “Smart
Campus”, the theory of user experience design was used to achieve the goal
of “Smart Campus”, a contextual survey centered on college students was
conducted to establish a persona. what was found in the study is that today’s
life on the campus is full and well-rounded: each college will host a large
number of academic lectures, entertainment, Competitions, and other activities.
However, the release and dissemination of event information still rely on
traditional propaganda way. The efficiency and effectiveness of transmission
are not good enough, At the same time, the student group has the
characteristics of receiving information overload and fragmented spare time. so
the goal to be able to easily learn about and participate in appropriate campus
activities came out.
In order to achieve the goal of the
students, first, the process of hosting campus events was combed,
combined with the theory of cognitive psychology, making clear the information
interaction between the organizer and the students. an information
source-compilation-dissemination-reception-processing-implementation model was
built. The model proposed to focus the main improvement work on the
compilation. in the stage of the information design. the original information
was visualized and integrated with the user’s own limiting factors. then, an
initial prototype was out, and a periodic usability testing was performed. It
is concluded that the effectiveness of information transmission can be improved
through the design and compilation stage, which can reduce difficulties for
users to accept processing, thereby improving the efficiency of the entire
process and user satisfaction. to get the final design, some other method of
user experience design was used such as flowchart drawing, information
architecture to get the wireframe and the final high-fidelity prototype.
finally, the end usability test was conducted to fix problems.
On the practical level, an app for campus
activities, which simplifies and integrates the communication of campus
activities was designed. which improved the experience for college students. On
the theoretical level, by integrating the above user experience, usability,
information interaction, and other theories, it is proposed that information
construction should be effectively designed at the information compilation
stage, providing a reference for the concept of “smart campus”
combined with design theory.
