the small nozzle is used for everything in many cases since dual stage air and its versatility but the wide nozzle has its place. the wide nozzle was made for engraving so the air is diffused instead of a jet.

    this nozzle helps get a polished edge on acrylic

    I use it for engraving — it creates more of a vortex and does a great job of pushing soot away from the surface. I only use the narrow for cutting when I need a stronger stream of air.
