By agreeing to these terms, you accept any security risks associated with modifying a firewall configuration, particularly in regards to opening non-recommended ports.
Please be aware that opening up database, administration and other types of ports globally may result in a security breach as well as failure to meet Payment Card Industry(PCI) requirements when applicable.
Examples of rules that are not aligned with generally accepted best practices are as follows but not limited to this list:
Allowing all traffic from any source to any destination without a port restriction (permit IP any any & UDP/TCP any)
Allowing all traffic to a specific destination (permit IP any host)
Allowing traffic from any source to a network object group (permit IP any object-group)
Allowing traffic from any source to a database administration port (3306 – MySQL / 1433 – Microsoft SQL)
Allowing traffic from any source for remote access (3389 - RDP/ 22 – SSH)
